1: Laboratory Technology Specialist – Dallah Hospital Careers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To perform analytical tests on patient specimens.
- Record and maintain specimen and test results log book.
- Responsible for running internal/external quality control procedures and maintaining records.
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the analytical equipment(s) used and their documentation.
- Preparation of reagents as required.
- Urgent/Abnormal results are to be brought to one relevant laboratory consultant/ specialist’s attention to be communicated to the requesting doctor. Out-of-hours results are to be released by the technologist and copy is submitted to the appropriate laboratory consultant for subsequent verification
- Daily statistics and necessary documents in the section
Education and Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Valid SCFHS license

2: Staff Nurse – Dallah Hospital Careers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- During the time period for which he/she is responsible, assesses the overall needs of the individual patients, assists in preparation and adjust the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintains continuity of care at the take-over and handover reports, ensuring that the communication is clear at all times.
- Ensures that doctors’ orders and patient management plans are followed and that appropriate steps are taken, including immediate notification of the resident/consultant in charge or on-call, of any deterioration from the expected course of the patient’s condition.
- Ensures that the appropriate records of the patient’s progress are maintained according to the unit’s policies and procedures.
- Prepares equipment and assists with examination and treatments, and clears away the equipment as appropriate after use.
- Escorts patients to other departments/units as required.
- Reports untoward incidents/accidents/staff sickness to the Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Maintain current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and patient clinical conditions. Calculate, prepare, monitor, discontinue fluids and medication drips.
- Ensures that the record of all drugs, IV fluids, etc., is up-to-date as required by the Pharmacy, and ensures that the rules and regulations governing the storage and custody of scheduled drugs and narcotics are strictly observed at all times.
- Participates in the discussion and implementation of clinical or administrative problems arising in the unit, as part of the Quality Improvement Programme.
- Ensures that the necessary financial records are maintained for the Finance Department..

3: CSSD Specialist – Dallah Hospital Careers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow the guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment must be completely decontaminated before use.
- Day-to-day duties can include:
- Operating and monitoring steam autoclaves, sonic washers, and other sterilizing equipment.
- Cleaning sterilizing equipment.
- Monitoring and storage of sterile stock.
- Care and handling of chemical instruments.
- Tracking and recall of equipment and items.
- Checking in and out of loan instruments.
- Maintain necessary supply levels in sterile storage areas.
- To be able to act as the Shift coordinator should the need arise and to act as preceptor to inexperienced staff.
- To support and contribute to the achievement of continuous quality improvement in the delivery of services to clients.
- Promotes infection control standards and adheres to occupational health and safety standards.
- Staff should be competent as follows:
- Perform biological indicator procedures correctly.
- Applies correct cleaning in the decontamination area.
- Applies correct inventory, dispensing, and distribution procedures.
- Provides standards of CSSD storage for clean and sterile supplies.
- Provides proper care and safety of the surgical instruments.
- Applies correct high and low-temperature sterilization.
- Applies correct packaging and storage supplies.
